Restaurant Week: September 30, 2022
A Bourdain biog; Toast one year post IPO; DoorDash doing good; and some Carbone chatter
Another week, another “podcast” from Andrew Genung (Family Meal) and me. This week, I misname a famous Carbone pasta dish that I love (rigatoni, not penne!) [2:00], shout out my alma matter (Fordham), and talk about Toast’s efforts to take over restaurant technology [16:18] while DoorDash does some good [21:48]. Andrew shares thoughts on the news that a new and unauthorized biography of Anthony Bourdain will hit shelves soon.
Please excuse my sound this week. Turns out even the fancy AirPods have terrible microphones.
Restaurant Week is a bourgeoning podcast from me and fellow restaurant industry newsletter writer Andrew Genung. It’s not yet available on services outside of Substack, but we’ll get there.
